Fruit Tea FAQ

Have questions about Moosa Nature's edible dried fruit teas? You are in the right place. Here are answers to the most common questions we receive.

What is fruit tea?

Fruit tea is a caffeine-free beverage made from real dried fruits instead of traditional tea leaves. Moosa Nature's fruit teas are made from exotic fruits sourced from Ecuador's Andes mountains. You steep the dried fruits in hot or cold water to create a naturally flavorful, vitamin-rich drink β€” and then you can eat the rehydrated fruit at the bottom of your cup.

Is fruit tea actually tea?

Technically, no. Traditional tea comes from the Camellia sinensis plant (black tea, green tea, white tea, oolong). Fruit tea is an infusion made entirely from dried fruits. It contains no tea leaves, which is why it is naturally 100% caffeine-free. The term "tea" is used because of the similar preparation method β€” steeping in water.

Is fruit tea healthy?

Yes. Moosa's fruit teas are made from 100% real dried fruits with no added sugars, artificial flavors, or preservatives. They are naturally rich in vitamins (especially Vitamin C), antioxidants, and dietary fiber. They are also:

  • Zero calories
  • Caffeine-free
  • Vegan and gluten-free
  • Free from artificial additives
  • Hydrating and naturally flavorful

How do I brew fruit tea?

Brewing Moosa's fruit tea is simple. You have three options:

  • Hot brew: Place a serving of dried fruit in your cup or infuser. Pour hot water (not boiling β€” around 200 degrees F) over the fruit. Steep for 3-5 minutes. Drink and eat the fruit.
  • Iced tea: Brew hot as above, let it cool, then pour over ice. Add fresh mint or a squeeze of citrus for extra flavor.
  • Cold brew: Add dried fruit to cold water in a pitcher or jar. Refrigerate for 4-6 hours (or overnight) for a smooth, naturally sweet flavor.

How long should I steep fruit tea?

For hot brewing, we recommend steeping for 3-5 minutes for optimal flavor. You can steep longer for a stronger, more concentrated taste. For cold brew, 4-6 hours in the refrigerator produces the best results, though overnight steeping is also great.

Unlike traditional tea, Moosa's fruit teas will not become bitter with longer steeping times, so feel free to experiment.

Can I eat the fruit after steeping?

Absolutely β€” that is what makes Moosa unique. After steeping, the dried fruits rehydrate and become soft and flavorful. You can eat them right out of the cup with a spoon. The rehydrated fruit retains its vitamins and fiber, making it a delicious and nutritious snack.

Is fruit tea caffeine-free?

Yes, 100%. Moosa's fruit teas contain no tea leaves, coffee, or any other source of caffeine. They are naturally caffeine-free, making them safe to enjoy at any time of day, including before bed. They are also suitable for pregnant women, children, and anyone avoiding caffeine.

Can I drink fruit tea hot or cold?

Both. Moosa's fruit teas are versatile and taste great hot, iced, or cold-brewed. Many customers enjoy hot fruit tea in cooler months and switch to iced or cold brew in the summer. Some blends taste slightly different depending on the method, so we encourage you to try all three.

How should I store fruit tea?

Store your Moosa dried fruit tea in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep the package sealed between uses to maintain freshness. Properly stored, our dried fruit teas maintain their quality for up to 12 months. There is no need to refrigerate the dried fruit before use.

Do you offer subscriptions?

Yes. Moosa Nature offers flexible subscription plans so you never run out of your favorite fruit tea. You can choose your preferred blend and delivery frequency (every 2 weeks, monthly, or every 2 months). Subscribers enjoy savings on every order, and you can pause, skip, or cancel at any time from your account dashboard.
